They say it's the journey, not the destination.

My friend Mickey and I had planned a trip to the flea market in Rogers for months and I couldn't wait for the warmer weather and flea market bargains (old cameras that I really don't need but look cool on my bookshelf). What took me by surprise was the trip to get there. Since I have never been to that part of Ohio, I spent the entire trip there with my face pressed up against the window of Mickey's truck. We went through several small towns that I don't even know the names of where time seems to have stood still.

My dream towns.

On the way home, Mickey must have pulled over four or five times so that I could hop out and scurry across the highway to photograph some long forgotten object or rundown building. I totally scored with this old diner sign.

What amazes me is that all this is stuff is in my backyard and I didn't even know that it existed. I can't wait to go back and check out the things that I didn't have time to shoot. I wonder what Mickey is doing this weekend...
