The biggest car show of the year happens this Saturday. The "Cruise-on-in and Dance Party" will bring over 100,000 people to the streets of downtown Massillon, Ohio. You'll see cars ranging from the early 1900's to the kind from the "Fast and the Furious" movies. Since I am so attracted to shiny objects, I'll be looking for the ones with lots of chrome and big swoopy fenders.

"Attracted to Shiny Objects" would make a great title for a book of your photographs!

Or it could be the clinical explanation to why I lost my mind from being a photographer. Just kidding. Do I really have "the stuff" to publish a book? I know there are a few books out there with "local flavor" and because I had attended the car show in Massillon for so many years in a row that I thought about a book of the best images. I didn't go for a couple of years because I was shooting weddings. I ruined my streak. I do remember seeing coffee table book with images of dashboards several years ago though. I guess you have to have the right idea at the right time.

Nostalgia is big during times of war and economic troubles... something to keep in mind. The 2007 calendars are hitting the shelves now-- check out how many of them have some sort of "retro" theme-- pinup girls, ads from the 40s and 50s, old photos of European cities, etc. Why not cars? Why not motel signs? You have the stuff, it's just a matter of finding the niche.
